LASTRA 20mm

For the correct installation of LASTRA 20mm onto grass or ground, such as with pathways, it is always recommended to check that the foot plan is at the same level of the grass. It is recommended to follow the instructions below:

 1.     PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Remove as much of the grass as possible from the area where the slabs are to be placed and wet the ground;

 2.     INSTALLATION OF SLABS

Place the slabs in accordance with your desired installation pattern and beat the surface using a white rubber/PVC hammer to make them adhere to the support;

 3.     JOINTS

It is recommended to place the slabs leaving at least 2cm between each one. 

To increase the stability, it is recommended to:

1. Dig the substrate for 5-6cm;
2. Fill with a gravel layer with 4-8mm granulometry;
3. Compact the substrate before installation.

 

 

For the correct installation of LASTRA 20mm onto sand, it is recommended to follow the instructions below:

 1.     PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Prepare a sand substrate of at least 5-10cm. Level off the layer using suitable tools;

 2.     INSTALLATION OF SLABS

Place the slabs in accordance with your desired installation pattern and beat the surface using a white rubber/PVC hammer to make them adhere to the support;

 3.     JOINTS

It is recommended to place the slabs leaving at least 2cm between each one.

 

  

 

DRY INSTALLATION: GRAVEL ONTO GROUND

 

For the correct installation of LASTRA 20mm on gravel onto ground, in case of concentrated loads (gazebos, flower vases, masonry barbecues, sofas, garden umbrellas, etc.), it is recommended to follow the instructions below:

 1.     PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Dig the substrate for 20cm;

 2.     DRAINING LAYER

Prepare a layer of 10cm made up of gravel and pebbles with 16-35mm granulometry to allow for the drainage of rain water. In order to avoid possible breakages of the floor, compact and level off the substrate with a minimum inclination of 2%;

 3.     BASE INSTALLATION

Create the installation bed made up of gravel with 4-8mm granulometry for a thickness of at least 10cm and level it off; 

 4.     INSTALLATION OF SLABS

Place the slabs in accordance with your desired installation pattern and beat the surface using a white rubber/PVC hammer to make them adhere to the support;

 5.     JOINTS

It is recommended to install the slabs leaving at least 3mm between each one using proper spacers between tiles. Joints can be left void, filled with non-clayish washed sand or with a draining polymer sand specific grout.

 

DRY INSTALLATION: ONTO BALCONIES OR TERRACES

 For the correct installation of LASTRA 20mm onto gravel, in case of covering of balconies and terraces, it is necessary to prepare a water-proofing layer (for example a bituminous sheath). It is recommend to follow the instructions below: 

 1.     PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Apply a draining sheath for the correct drainage of rain water above the footing and water-proofing layer;

 2.     BASE INSTALLATION

Create the installation bed made up of gravel with 4-8mm granulometry for a thickness of at least 2-3cm and level it off; 

 3.     INSTALLATION OF SLABS

Place the slabs in accordance with your desired installation pattern and beat the surface using a white rubber/PVC hammer to make them adhere to the support;

 4.     JOINTS

It is recommended to install the slabs leaving at least 3mm between each one using proper spacers between tiles. Joints can be left void, filled with non-clayish washed sand or with a draining polymer sand specific grout.
